if you travel space as 'we know it', as a 'species' as we know it, you wouldn't require your own body... as we know it and that there are entities that possess people contrary to how media masks possession, instead of traumatic I imagine the host feels alleviated, happy, freer in a sense otherwise the host would reject the parasite knowingly instead of being controlled by endorphins from a 'higher frequency'
