Alcohol has calories, but it's low and doesn't go through the same chemical pathway as sugars. The question here isn't really alcohol content, you'd die before gaining weight on straight liquor, but lower alcohol drinks like beer contain residual sugars depending on the recipe. American pissbeer is based on a "diet pils" style which is meant to be low calorie, but any standard ale is going to have far more, closer to Coca-cola.
You only need 10-15 pints to reach 2000 calories, which is more than doable.
