Been thinking about this show a bit, could say I sorta grew up with it and it's sorta jarring. At first it just felt like silly fun simple show with a heart of magic and childhood wonder, just a boy and his magic dog messing around and silly bizarre stuff. Then they felt the need to make it more "mature" and "deep" with a ton of boring angsty melodrama that ironically made it more bland and shallow in my opinion. No more adventures or times to be had with Finn and Jake, just cringe writers wanking over how epically deep and subversive they are.
