My family came over just before the civil war in the 1850s, pretty sure my great grandad of the period was press ganged into supporting the north too. I have a letter written by him saying Lincoln was a nigger-lover and most people weren't sad to see him gone after the war, he is the reason I believe the "reconstruction" was one of the biggest mistakes in our nation's history. The first mistake was our founding fathers failing to mandate that only natural-born citizens could hold elected positions, their failure damned us to non-white and foreign encroachment with every new herd of immigrants.
