Sadly their sense of mercy and virtue as well as the sin of slavery led to their eventual downfall with their own religious and moral systems being subverted and supplanted yet again. The next gorge in human civilization led to the destruction of everything the Egyptians, Hellenic and Roman people had built south of the mediterranean.
