>ALL TRANSACTIONS ARE MONITORED
Stablecoins have all the same functionality as what a CBDC would entail. Currency that can be programmed with incredibly specific instruction to behave within any given parameters. The difference between the two right now is that stablecoins are a general term for blockchain based tokens that are tethered to various fiat currencies issued by private business/corporations. The CBDCs would have been more akin to a state sponsored/approved stablecoin.
Exactly the same function just a different name more or less.
