Why do conservatives/white people always try to DEFLECT?
It’s honestly impossible to have a straightforward discussion with conservatives and whites anymore. Every time you bring up an issue, they immediately deflect to something else.
You say Black Lives Matter, and instead of addressing police brutality or systemic bias, they go “All lives matter.” Like yeah, no one said they didn’t but that’s not the point.
You mention that on average, whites are more racist than other races (history proves that) but they'll go "All people are racist" or "b-but what about Asian countries", as if allowing migrants in white countries is somehow a sign that white people are more "tolerant" when we all know that migration is just a way for them to oppress brown people by making them do slave tier jobs, or blame them when things go south.
You'll point out that anti-Indian racism is on the rise in the west, but they'll go "b-but b-but what about caste system!!! Indians are racists to themselves!!!".
It’s always the same pattern, they can’t engage with the actual issue, so they change the subject to something that sounds like a counterpoint but isn’t. It’s pure deflection. They think it makes them sound smart or balanced, but really it’s just intellectual cowardice.
You could show them a study, a fact, a literal video, and they’ll still dodge it. Instead of processing uncomfortable truths, they just find a scapegoat or throw out a buzzword. It’s not even debate anymore, it’s just reflexive denial.
