The Shimosa manga have had hiatuses of:

The reasons, as far as I know, being sickness, and being busy helping with the Samurai Remnant game. Not to mention that it isn't uncommon for it to skip a month or two every now and then.
So, since you said the mangaka is now making a manga for Remnant, and we know the higher-ups have no problem pulling them from the Shimosa manga to do something else.
The hopeful conclusion is that Shimosa will be on-hold until Remnant is complete.
The other alternative is that it was indeed canceled to instead do the most recent thing.

All that to say: I don't know.

As someone who even imports the manga, I'd hope it'll be concluded someday, that Wataru-sensei getting more projects isn't only due to their amazing art, but also due to Shimosa being popular enough. But we'll see I guess.
