The issue to me is that alucard doesn't seem like he could do the job at all and I don't understand why people think he really could. The reason dracula fought God was over his waifu being killed by the very clergy that served God. What does alucard have to lose at this point in his unlike that could drive him to the same extremes? More over if someone needs to be dracula and it doesn't have to be soma then why did they seek soma out? Simple honestly, he still has that hatred, if anyone where to kill mina. So in terms of a modern resurrection of dracula there's not a lot of directions you can really go. There's no character afaik with pedigree that can take the position. It will have to be a new character written for the story. The best they can probably do is introduce an inverted soma, where the goal of the game actually ends with you being dracula
