Yeah I saw the link but the specific knife matters since they may not all be same oem. To be fair, idk how you thought you weren't getting a chinese knife at that price with those materials. It looks like that particular knife is made under Kansept's budget brand of knives. I'm not too familiar with Kansept's budget line, but they make great premium knives, and if it's anything like Civivi is to WE KNIFE, you haven't got anything to worry about.
Try to understand that China isn't always cheap because it's low quality, but because there are certain advantages they enjoy over other countries by being THE manufacturing powerhouse of earth. High-end CNC time is cheap as chips over there compared to just about anywhere; tools and parts are readily available wholesale and produced domestically. Materials are plentiful, also, almost all knife production happens in a single city (Yangjiang) known for knife manufacturing, which means there's a truly vast pool of workers experienced with the industry for any company to pull from who can just do the job, much different compared to say, shops that open up in random towns in the west. All these cost savings add up. I have high-end chinese knives in my collection, and they're just as good as my premium USA production knives. And when it comes to good budget knives, China (and Taiwan) give the most for the $$$.
That being said there ARE a lot of complete dog shit knives coming out of China, I've seen them, but that one does not seem to be one of them after some cursory research
