normally id take this as a crimson tapestry sign of pandering
but in the case of this game, its specifically a guy whos all about the competitive scene. That gives credence to the idea the devs are aware of the scene and taking feedback from the actual fans, and more importantly, care about the community enough to research AWBW folk
one of the biggest reason other AW clones died was not pandering enough to the compfags and being seemingly unaware that a free online version of AW exists already, in a much better state. While I hate eceleb pandering in general, this at least proves theyre aware of AWBW
