I thought that only people who have seen combat have a right to call themselves a veteran. When I found out that all the random niggers sweeping the airfield during peacetime also can and DO call themselves vets... first I laughed, then I cringed, then I had 2nd hand embarrassment. By that metric, I'm also a veteran. I got conscripted and did my military service like every other guy here. You wouldn't catch me dead calling myself a vet, and I've never heard anybody to that. Wtf, that is reserved for the guys who actually were in the shit.
