I kinda want to get back into Vocaloid.
How big is Vocaloid nowadays? How has AI effected the vocaloid project? I know the point of the vocaloid project was to get closer and closer to a real voice. That was achieved nearly overnight with AI. So where does that leave vocaloid? People fell inlove more with the unique sound of a vocaloid voice, but without the ultimate goal of trying to get a fully real-sounding voice, it kinda leaves the project in limbo. Either they embraced AI to make vocaloid voices or shifted the goal to just creating fun-sounding voices. The realistic voice goal was always kinda at odds with what people liked about vocaloid. A fully realistic voice is cool but I think majority of people, thats not what they are looking for.

I looked into some old vocaloids I liked way back in the day. Yuzuku Yukari, SEEU, Luo Tianyi. Seems like they went no where. Its all videos from like 13 years ago. Granted one of them is a Korean vocaloid and a Chinese vocaloid, but still. I guess they cant all be Mikus, but it makes me wonder if these vocaloids in particular died off or interest in vocaloid as a whole did, outside of Miku. Thoughts?
