>Queensland MP Bob Katter has thrown his support behind “March for Australia” anti-immigration rallies planned for later this month with two fiery social media videos.
>The Katter’s Australia Party founder took aim at both major parties for “opening the floodgates for immigration” and urging Aussies to join the marches planned for August 31 in cities around the country.
>In the first two-minute clip Mr Katter told attendees to “throw eggs” at any members of major parties they see, and declared that “we are fighting for our country to be preserved and not drowned in a flood of immigration”.
>“If there is a member of the mainstream parties there, throw eggs at them, please, throw something at them, they have no right to march – they have sold our country out,” he said.
>“You’ve got two parties selling you out.”
>He went on to point out that the majority of recent immigrants have settled in Sydney and Melbourne, putting pressure on the labour market while at the same time the manufacturing sector has been sent overseas.
>“All of the factories are gone. The motor car industry is gone. The underwear industry is gone. There are no jobs there. So what are they doing there? How dare you bring these people to our country, and then have them be looked after by the public purse,” he said.
>“You take money off every single Australian who is struggling to buy food for his family, and you bring these people in, and they go on the dole because there is no work for them – there’s no work for anyone in Sydney and Melbourne except from the public purse.
