When I first came here I believed the warmovies myself. I thought we tried to fight the evil communism. So if the question is "how did I have the audacity" the answer is "ignorance".
If the question is why don't the ones who know the story hate me? Well, that's because the US waged war on Vietnam for about 20 years (1955 - 1974) with 20 years of Economic warfare (1990s Vietnam opened to the world). France occupied them for over a hundred years... China has been trying to kill them for 2,000 years... The US is really just not important enough for the educated ones to care. They blame the French for our involvement but hate the Chinese even more than them.
