The problem that no one will tell you is that the American Diet is packed full of omega 6's. If your body is saturated with these fats, your body will literally be in a state of permanent micro inflammation due to the commulative buildup of oxidative stress caused by free radicals. All those stories about people's body's being in constant pain starting at 30? Omega 6s.
You NEED Omega 3s. Lots of them. They come from fish (mackerals), but fish oil is your best bet. Every single day. It's literally the equivalent to giving your entire body a permanent and major upgrade.
