I just feel like R Corp Hong Lu does a better job at feeling uncharacteristic while still sounding like Hong Lu
I get that he's supposed to be taking Jia Qiu's place in the Mirror World, but at the same time he still had the Jade eye put into him. There's still that feeling of him being our Hong Lu rather than being born into the Kong family like Jia Qiu was. In that vein, it really doesn't make any sense that Kong Lu would copy the way Jia Qiu speaks so strongly. It just sounds wrong in all the wrong ways

I would agree, but again the voice direction tries to make him sound so like Jia Qiu when that's just not who Hong Lu is. The gimmick made sense with Ahabmael due to the whole "once an Ahab always an Ahab" meme, but that water doesn't really hold with Jia Qiu. Not to mention the stupid reverb filter that his voice has in the menus, it just makes his stupid Jia Qiu impression sound even more tacky
