"Now boarding flight 115 to Baltimare"
>The Mane Six shuffle along to the desk, checking in their boarding passes whilst making idle chatter.
>"Oh! it looks like we're all seated next to each other! How delightful~!" Rarity gushes, "Fluttershy, dear, may I take the window seat, I'd love to get a look of the city as take off."
>The yellow pony nods almost enthusiastically, "Oh yes, no problem, I'm not sure I want to.. the ground disappearing below us anyway.."
>"Fluttershy, you can FLY. what do you mean you're afraid to see us ascending??" Rainbow Dash exclaims throwing her forehooves up in exasperation.
>Fluttershy merely shrinks away mumbling with a little squeak.
>"C'mon now Rainbow, Ah wouldn't feel all too comfortable considering we're taking off in one of Anon's latest doohickees from his world," drawled Applejack, "Ah mean, just look at that thing!" stretching a hoof towards the window at the nose of the rather impressively large 737.
"How's something that big and made of metal meant to get into the air??"
>"A slingshot maybe?" offers the Pink Party Pony, "Ooh Oh, or maybe a pony-pult!!"
>"Girls, I've already tried explaining to you how this all works!" Twilight interjects, "Anon gave me extensive diagrams and a whole lessons on the aerodynamics of this 'Aero-plane'. Airplane wings are shaped to make air move faster over the top of the wing. When air moves faster, the pressure of the air-"

"Good evening everypony, this is your Captain speaking. Welcome aboard. We will be flying at thirty-nine thousand feet on our flight from Ponyville to Baltimare. We are expecting a smooth flight and anticipate an on-time arrival at 10:05 PM Pony Standard Time. Please sit back, relax, and we hope you enjoy your flight."
>"39,000 feet?? That's higher than all of Cloudsdale!" Rainbow Dash cries out
>"Not getting nervous are you, darling?" chides Rarity, with a smug grin, "You *can* fly can you not?"
>Rainbow crosses her forehooves and slinks into her chair a bit without a word
The chatter of the rest of the passenger ponies picks up again, some nervous, others in astonishment as the vehicle begins to taxi its way out of the boarding dock.
Anon, seated in the pilots chair, goes through the motions he has a thousand times, checking in and communicating with the ATC tower, giving a friendly wave through the window, as the lumbering beast makes its way onto the correct runway. It had taken a long time to explain the workings of terminal, the specifications for an airport, and how to properly perform pre-flight checks, but these ponies he's found himself surrounded by were smart, and all too eager to learn more about technology from his world. They knew the risks of half-measures, so he was confident that everything would be fine.
Years of work. All leading up to this moment to where he could give his new friends the flight of their lives.
