I was thinking about dark matter and how it supposedly makes up much of the galaxy’s mass but we can’t detect it and I wonder if a possible solution to the Fermi paradox or dark forest theory could simply be that advanced ET civilizations just use some cloaking device to hide their stars from visual/radio observation.

I figure if you can do anything close to FTL travel then you can probably figure out a way to bend light around your star, or create artificial black holes, or camouflage it against the background radiation of the universe. We use stealth to hide from the same species on this planet and so it seems like it would make sense (to me) to use stealth to hide from other species hundreds or thousands of lightyears away as well.
