In this case, it seems that the "democratic socialists" overplayed their hands. Basically, in 2019 Morales won the election, got couped, and afterward decided to endorse another candidate in the elections since he was banned from running for office again after the coup. In this way, his handpicked successor won the elections and the coup was effectively reversed. This same guy he picked then decided to ban him from running for office again in order to secure his own power, only for this to cause his popularity to collapse so hard that he wouldn't even be able to run again, and then as a means of showing the divide symbolically for voters, he officially left the Movement for Socialism.

Now the election is between the Christian Democratic Party (a moderate right-wing party) and the Libre Party that wants to lock up all the socialists and make a deal with Trump to fully bring Bolivia into the US sphere of influence. I honestly am not even sure who I want to win. Christian Democrats sound like a good option, and long-term a more gradual shift might work better, but on the other hand a more rapid shift with Libre would be very effective if it doesn't get overthrown.
