>"I think there are still some strong players out there, so gather some strong players next year. If I win there, I think I'll be the real champions."
>"People ask me what belt I'm challenging for, but I'm not in a hurry at all. I've been doing this for 10 years now. I don't want people to think that 5STAR is just a league to decide the challengers. I'll do what I want to do, and become champion in my own way. Those who have been supporting me up until now will wait a little longer to see me become champion. That's only natural."
Watanabe also brought her white ring costume, saying, "I'll wear it if I make it to the finals." It's the one she wore in her biggest title match. As a top wrestler, she wanted to beat AZM. That's what she was thinking.
The two faced off. Watanabe nearly lost consciousness. But still, she faced AZM. Her seconds, Ruaka and Azusa Inaba, tried to intervene, but Watanabe overpowered them and chose to go one-on-one. "That's what I wanted to do with AZM," she said. She then hit AZM with piledrivers over and over again. She finished her off with a Peach Thunder.
>"I got tired after defending the white belt for a year. I've done what I wanted to do, so I thought maybe singles would be good for now. But I've become interested in belts again. I didn't get to win them, but I started thinking about wanting the red belt or the IWGP. I'm not discouraged. I know when that day will come."
Watanabe exuded confidence.
>"There are still many things I haven't done. There are still more belts I want to win. Pro wrestling is fun. That's my motivation. It changed from Oedo Tai to HATE, but it's fun. I've got more teammates and they're all strong."
There was a lot of reaction to this victory, including messages like this one.
"I'm not rooting for Momo Watanabe, but I'd like to say congratulations. Still, I'm happy."
