I'm playing mid sword for first time should I have coined out a 2pp?

He could play 2pp 4 dmg spell but maybe I wanted him to play that instead of a 2pp 2/2 to hit my face ? what should my plan be here for first 4-5 turns assuming he has 2pp 4 dmg spells, 2pp 2/2 and edelweiss on 4
