Anon, I am going to throw a truth nuke like you ain’t gonna believe but hear me out for a sec.
I have been participating in these tournaments since their inceptions so I have seen what does and what doesn’t work.
More than 50% of the voting base are present within the first and last hours of the poll openings meaning those are also the times where a vote can be swayed through OC.
>So OC can sway votes?
Not exactly. Especially not during the first rounds. Your average layman isn’t going to scroll through 128-32 contestants to just change a vote (You) a exception not the rule) so OC while effective will probably not be able to effectively sway votes as to make it matter. So you need to make OC during the first hour or the last hour to make any difference in voting.
Where OC does actually shine is with sweet 16 and onwards. People are more willing to change their votes and considering that most contestants up to this point would probably be considered good picks, they’d probably actually be swayed if any good OC gets put out.
Note: This is in terms of swaying as turning tables, especially against a powerhouse needs a damn mythical pull if your main doesn’t have any pull of her own.
TL;DR
First and last hour OC impacts Round 1-3
OC impacts Round 4 onwards
