I am race-conscious enough to recognize that I shouldn't be in favor of that. The island of Ireland was Irish and should've remained that way and should once again become fully Irish. That's why I'm in favor of the IRA insofar as they're not Marxist.

I don't think the British wanted to destroy the culture and identity of the nations it brought under it's control. The Scottish still have a distinct identity. However, the Irish rebellions put them in a tough situation.
