I went through something pretty similar, there are some genuinely bad beings, but they are few, most are just confused or think they know more about you then they actually do so they do stupid shit, then there are types who I'd simply call guardians. Figuring out who's who was a bitch and a half, not saying I'm perfect at it but I'm getting pretty damn good at it.
