The Indians I have encountered eat massive servings of rice and fried/steamed dough in various forms (dosas, idlis, pakoras, etc.), with a small helping of legumes/daal (maybe 4-7 grams of protein worth), and basically no other macro nutrients besides more carbs and fiber from some veggie curry. On a good day there might be a little bit of paneer cheese or yogurt, but that’s still an awful nutritional profile.
Basically think it’s “impure” to eat animal protein and that every meal should be 90% rice/dough, which explains why they’re all 5’2 and skinnyfat.
