If you enjoyed the gameplay and progressing through the Ishimura itself, I think the remake is superior, it felt a lot more like exploring through a persistent environment and the backtracking is a bit more interesting with the security level clearance instead of power node doors, and some of the story beats related to progressing through the ship work better such as the leviathan blocking the antenna instead of being a separate entity.
The lore story changes are debatable, I didn't mind the marker having an effect on all the characters, I think it improves Hammond's story, I think Isaac having some say in what is going and where to go in the plot improves his character as an engineer a bit, the Hydroponics and Nicole back story are debatable.
The character model changes with making everyone over 50yo was pretty unnecessary, some rooms were randomly pitch black only some of the time and the grab tentacles had an annoying amount of health.
