It was just boring but well animated until they went full creatively bankrupt exploitation by replacing classic character designs with tacky parody-coded ones for no other reason than to try to sell new merch. I'll never forgive Toriyama for making such an irresponsible decision. Using the original designs and making them "canon" could have been a beautiful, full-circle moment for the fans to unify behind as an incredible send-off to Toriyama's extensive legacy. It could have opened awesome doors for the future of DBS.

But fuck that, let's just paint bucket Super Saiyan 4 SSG red and add gorilla forearms to try and sell some gacha tickets and new figurines, right?
