If you check the reception to the latest story quest's reveal most people are indifferent to the actual spaceship reveal but are heavily discouraged with how nonchalantly it was mentioned as if it's a plot point that gets brought up every second quest. You know the writers fucked up when even the loyal players start questioning if they've somehow missed a past event or if something they're curious about even has been brought up at all
