Spitballing here, just for consideration.
I'd like to suggest idol nuis as an idea. At the very least, something smaller/simpler like a nui would potentially allow for drawings to be cleaner and more stylistically cohesive. Smaller sizes could also warrant getting someone to do a nice background design to put them on.
I'm admittedly unsure about how much/if I can actually contribute this time due to circumstances, unfortunately, but I support the effort nonetheless.
