This image worked for me once and it got me to wondering why. Even if you're not the type of person to which it would be helpful, why would it work for anyone at all?
In a way, it's kind of adjacent to a memento mori. It doesn't necessarily serve to remind of death, however.

I don't just think it's about Pepe and his memetic lore, either. I think it serves to remind one of the people who post Pepe's with you as well. It's a reminder about a very specific worldview, i think. It more serves to help one remember laughter instead of death. I think that's pretty cool.
