You are correct in that popularity != good.
But its popularity cannot be denied given its sales.
And as someone who's played through every route, yeah, it's pretty good.
Not flawless/perfect of course, but definitely a Top 15-20 game for me.
Just a really fun game. I even started Three Hopes, but I've only done one route so far. Need to finish the others.
