the months after release were fun here. i think most people here were positive about the game and questioning what was wrong with everyone else. I didnt have problems with crashes or glitches. And it ran pretty well on low settings at 1440 on my computer from 2017. for me it was pretty smooth the whole time and i got the sense that everyone here was in the same boat. there were 1 or 2 console players, and i dont remember hearing any complaints from them

i like to think about the moment cyberpunk released into because it was a perfect storm.
2020 there were hints of covid but it had not set in until the summer approached. New RTX 3000 gpus were going to release in the fall, so people tried to sell their old GPUs to prepare for the new ones. And at a moment when Etherium mining became huge and miners grabbed up every thing they could. New consoles were also releasing.
the fall came, people were losing their jobs or needed to work from home, they needed to buy new computers.
container ships were prioritizing medical supplies increasing shipping costs and reducing the volume of consumer goods. china's manufacturing was slow to start back up after their new years due to covid lockdowns. So the stuff everyone wanted, there wasn't enough man power to produce enough to meet demand, and what little they could make was bottle necked by shipping, and when it did hit store shelves there was increased demand from Etherium Miners, people working from home, gamers, and Scalpers
If you sold youre gpu, youre not getting a new one. if you were planning on getting a new console, expect to pay triple
People scared of covid, social isolation, financial pressure, general dread and uncertainty and everyone glued to screens
Then cyberpunk releases and people made ps4 glitch montages. People were looking for something to be angry at and social media feed them ragebait and the public believed it

For me 2021 was amazing. It was a lot of fun sharing the game with people here
