Besides having a set of military-grade experimental power armor, you're aware that this troll is a figure of significant importance in the city underneath Helsinki. She is the current head of an undercity orphanage, a rather mundane-sounding position until you consider that the Helsinki Stormwatch have been killing trolls and squatters in the stormdrains for decades, maybe even longer. Even worse, some civilians may have children outside of the law and abandon their children down here. While She is not explicitly a leader, many fighting-age squatters view her as one of the closest thing they ever had to a mother.
With wide eyes which you can only spy the whites, She ogles you, disconcertingly. She exudes a terrifying presence that creeps down your spine. Like long sharp fingernails dragging down your back. So very close to human. Almost familiar, even. All until you realize it's underneath the skin, running across the vertebrae themselves. Deep in your bones, you feel this thing should be nowhere near a child.
Even looking at this aberration is causing some strange effects. Your ears feel like they have water in them. Like they are ringing, but a deep ring, a bassy ring, a low tone. The only thing else you hear are the panicked screams of others, and the radio occasionally cutting in - "DO NOT ENGAGE, I REPEAT, DO NOT ENGAGE, I REPEAT-"
You've seen more horrific things before, plenty of times! Mountains of spongy flesh bleeding pink pus. Aberrant men that looked downright demonic. You've made heads and tails of living trees whose physiology defeats all forms of digital detection on the planet. You've seen what all these things look like when you're done cutting them up. They're all disgusting. This is just something that's mildly human, a big scary woman. Why does this thing just... assault your senses?
The greatsword in your hands glows as a warning. This weapon is a gift from your mother that is host to a swarm of nanomachines with a mind all their own, and they are likeminded in their aversion. But they do not shirk in disgust or scream in fear. You get the sense that they seem ready to stand their ground. Their presence bats away the horror of this monstrosity.
