from what I gathered on that asian guys twitter post because he talked about it later and posted his relics in moonspeak, but part of it to super maximize it is you have to have the +2 guards, and he says further to the effect of

"The regular relics are lower powered so they need to be on the breakthroughside and on the deep relic side you try to go for the +2s with another attack modifier like phys or any of the affinities"

TLDR front relics have to be "breakthrough multipliers" as in their %s have to be good enough to multiply the rest, and the deep relics NEED to be +2 with another dmg modifier
