The very early 90s were still beautiful, before that sudden lurch through grunge into EDM. The cultural bleedover through 90-92, stretching over to 93 in some forms of media, was basically the golden sunset of the 80s, its styles and energies refined to their peaks.
Everything changed almost overnight once Nirvana went mainstream. MTV's cultural pull was massive, and there was just no going back once they dropped both the old guard and the aspiring newcomers. A lot of promising rock careers just fizzled away, only a handful of the old giants made the cut.
The warmth and bravado of those few, short years, man.
