Unfortunately that's the good ending for most characters in this comic, to just be removed from existence, lest they become unrecognizable versions of themselves.
McCain, Kizuna, Carson, Tess... they're all in peace now.

This comic is a mess. I hate the constant, pointless misery. It is made worse when you consider some points:
>characters behave like idiots, act completely opposite as to what a normal person would do in their age/situation
>retcons and plot points forgotten out of convenience
>keeps going in circles for years and years
>any and all development can and will be dropped at a heartbeat at the author's whim
>inconsistent, often erratic character behavior and personalities throughout the years
I guess at this point I'm just reading it for sunk cost and out of morbid curiosity to see where this pointless, senseless story is going. I do like to discuss it here and to see some of the fanart people come up with, so there's that, too.
At the end of the day, even though it is generally not a very good comic, it is mildly entertaining.
