But yes, the majority of the original Monster Girls are thematically named after the periodic table of elements, using either their English or Japanese names. "燐" or "リン" is Phosphorus for example, so if you've ever had the MTL suddenly translate Rin's name as Phosphorus that's because that's technically correct. Asta, Fermi, Silvia, Platina, Ateru, etc, many of the original Monster Girls trace their names to this scheme.

On a similar note, I guess I feel like looking into the lil' guy's name now, and his name is supposed to be a play on the name of the kingdom he's the prince of, and that name play usually seems to be lost in translation as well. Most things seem to translate the kingdom's name as "Wraithon", but the name in the original Japanese is "ラシオン" (Rashion), while the Prince's name is "ラシオネル" (Rashioneru). So logically at least they should sound like each other.
In addition, I went back to check why I had initially believed it started with "R", and that's because Shushi pronounces it that way when she's giving the name originally. I think the Prince is also probably exempt from the Periodic Table Name themeing, unless it's supposed to be a play on Ra or La. But his name is similar to a literal transliteration of "Rational" into Japanese, which would be "ラショナル" (Rashonaru). That's not concrete confirmation that it's 100% supposed to be a play on the word, but the similarity should still be pretty self-evident at the most barest of minimums.
Ultimately if there's reasonable evidence for it to start with either an L or an R then I believe that >>1807153 is probably correct and it'd just be easiest to determine it from files until they're more explicit in the future like what happened with the Zombie Girl.
