The Synchro lets you extend off Meluseek+Malwisp as a one card combo without just being a gay Link 1
The trap gives you extension through handtraps and turn 0 plays off a single card card instead of having to draw Faker+Imperm. Decent option into roach/charmies too letting you summon some interruption on their turn.
