Given Diane is quite literally a better thief, fighter, and was capable of giving wolf of near concussion. It's not really some unbelievable thing, simple difference is she has actual training and even earlier 1 tapped doom with a blow to the skull and when she hit kitty she even came in with actual momentum. Even Back when they fought on the bridge of the ship, kitty was losing to pure skill and won since they distracted Diane.

This is not so much about being a mary sue, more what it looks like when a street fighter comes at someone who's far more skilled than them. Honestly Misty could probably beat Kitty too since she's just far bigger and stronger than her but even Shark managed to 1 tap her on a reflex move cause he struck the head
