This is what everyone at the time thought as well. Here are these great story threads taken out back and shot with zero fanfare. And all the interesting parts of the series (Every country having a precure team, Phantom being able to impersonate anyone at all, Blue playing with the hearts of every woman he meets including Megumi, Iona's rivalry with Hime because she feels she failed everyone) never being addressed while the parts they did focus on being taken out back and shot didn't help HaCha's image.

I still think it's up there in the running for the worst season, even if time has made me realize it was never going to be anything more than the fat-butt yellow cure singing about rice.
