Macy was hoping it would work. She did read the book stating the music box was magic and could allow people to travel between worlds. She did spend her whole day studying not celebrating Anne’s birthday. Marcy did plant the idea in Sasha’s head and stood and watched with Sasha outside making Anne do this on her birthday. I’m not saying Sasha wasn’t also guilty of making Anne steal but it my Marcy who ignored her friend all day on her birthday mind you and didn’t even message Anne, instead she manipulated the situation and messaged Sasha to do the dirty work of forcing Anne to stay out and steal.
