I don't know how to describe it, but I literally can always tell an Eastern mecha from a Western mech. You could literally show me an MT from early Armored Core and I'd clock it as Eastern before I'd think it came from any Battletech game. Something about the design theory that transcends the stereotypes people seem to associate with them always trends towards a particular stylized look that sticks out.
