it's not about how polarizing he was. it's that people tended to either try to make him seem like a better or worse person than he actually was. he isn't the only character that gets misunderstood though.
and it's especially odd when someone who loves the character misunderstands him and tries to make him a dindu nuffin.
villains should be appreciated as they are.
