I wouldn't say it's pointless. Even though decorations are limited here, it's nothing that a bit of creativity can't solve. Made a bloody summoning circle out in the car port, put some police tape to form a line. Got a plastic skeleton, wrapped gladwrap around it, blew it with a hairdryer so it stuck and painted over it turning it into a bloody skeleton with bits of skin and muscle left on it. Threw in some toy bones and fake webs. Had a buttload of fun and got to chat with parents and their families, a lot of them had genuine fun and their kids had a great time.

Frankly I'd say that experience alone was worth it just knowing I probably made some kid's night on that Halloween last year and now they love it just as much as I do. Too bad I can't do it this year due to budgetary constraints but I implore anyone here to do their best too.
