The bottom line is, with modern technology, you don't really need a whole corporate structure with management and HR and support staff to create these titles.
Therefore, you don't need to charge the high prices they once commanded to sustain that structure, and the audience that once paid those prices have "retired" from eroge anyway.
So these games either get undercut by cheaper and better indie titles, or smothered by gacha titles which massively outscale them in revenue.
