Get used to running around zombies if they aren't directly in your way. Most resident evil games are built around backtracking through all the levels, and many years later I'm pretty sure I still have that mansion memorized. The game is very good at giving you just enough resources to make it, so conserving your ammo for boss fights will help you greatly.
