It's just low level processing of human language. Brain areas involved, reaction times depending on ambiguity of expressions, gender inferring for languages that are not gendered, speech disorders, tons of Chomsky. An extremely boring mandatory subject, and extremely theoretical. Sometimes it's closer to AI chatbot theory

It's no wonder that a ton of people will drop the psychology degree before getting to half of it. They all come thinking about therapy and Freud and most of it just maths, biology and lots of rats (thankfull I love rats).
