Intermittent fasting is what you need. It doesn't say has less calories/day. You have to get used to eating a lot for breakfast and lunch, then you will feel fine not eating for the next 16+ hours.
Personally I eat 3 times from 6 AM to noon (preworkout overnight oats, granola bowl at work, big lunch, maybe some fruits around 2-3 pm). Best thing I ever did. Did it for the sleep gains, the fat burning came naturally after.
