>Is the VN for Silent Hill just the dialogue and stills from cut scenes of the first game?
I mean, it's pretty accurate to the original, so there are same dialogues and images from the game, but it's written like a book from Harry's perspective: his actions, thoughts and everything. There are choices, but I don't know yet how they affect the story, for now I'm sticking to the closest options to the game. Once you complete the VN as Harry, you unlock Cybil's scenario. There was even Andy's story (a new character), but it could only be downloaded in Japan over 20 years ago, and AFAIK it's considered lost media now.

>Alan Wake
>How are you liking it?
Pretty good. It's my second playthrough after a short break, since Nightmare isn't available from the start, and I wanted to collect those remaining manuscripts and other missed stuff.
>The combat is really kind of mid compared to max Payne and the story doesn't beat a repeat play through.
Yeah, but the combat in Max Payne was peak IMO, so it's a high bar to compare to. Alan does get repetitive after a while, but I really like the gun selection - simple country weapons, and also how they feel. I'm usually disappointed by gun sounds in games, but not here.
> I wish there was more horror themed games at night I a comfy twin peaks inspired setting though. Ones that have actual gameplay I mean and not walking Sims.
I actually started Alan Wake only after watching TP, so I haven't played any of the other ones yet. Have you tried the spin-off, American Nightmare? If so, how is it?
